Scope
This statement covers the freestays trust center and the freestays.app platform. The operator is SnapNext GmbH & Co. KG. The platform has not yet launched.
Legal framework
Whether the Barrierefreiheitsstärkungsgesetz (German Accessibility Improvement Act) applies to the platform and the trust center is being reviewed legally. Regardless of this, the aim is to design the pages so that they are usable under the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG 2.1, level AA).
What is checked automatically
The following checks run in the program code as automated tests. They do not replace a full audit.
Trust center:
- After each build, every page is tested with the axe-core testing software against the rules of WCAG 2.0 and 2.1 (A and AA), WCAG 2.2 (AA) and further best-practice rules. The result must contain no violations.
- The test runs at seven window widths from 1600 to 320 pixels. It checks that the page does not need to scroll sideways.
- The tested pages are the home page, Subprocessors, Measures, Documents, Data subject rights, Contact and the error page.
Platform:
- Automated tests with axe-core check the platform's pages for each role against WCAG 2.1 (A and AA). Serious and critical violations make the test fail.
- Tests check, per page, a main heading, an ordered sequence of headings, the skip link to the content in the signed-in areas, and the operation of forms.
- For the application overview with cards, there is a keyboard route with one button per card.
What is not checked
Automated tools find only some of the barriers. In particular, the following are not checked:
- use with screen readers,
- forced colors mode,
- the Safari and Firefox browsers,
- comprehensibility and usability for users with disabilities.
A full audit, including by hand and with assistive technology, is planned before launch. Until then, the pages are not considered checked for accessibility.
Known limitations
No individual limitations are documented. This does not mean there are none. The statement rests only on the automated tests named above.
